| Blinkenshell.org is a free UNIX shell host. What this basically means is that we have a UNIX-server, where you can create an account and login to run your programs, for free. Why would you like to run your programs on some other machine than your own? Well, there are several reasons. Maybe your connection is losy, but you want to be connected to IRC without being disconnected all the time. Maybe you want to be able to turn your computer off when you go to sleep, but still have some programs running. Or maybe, you want to use some program that you can't/don't want to install, for examlpe you want to publish a website but can't serve it from your home box. Maybe you don't have access to a UNIX-system but you want to learn how to use one. Blinkenshell is a free Linux/UNIX shell account provider. It was founded by independence in the summer of 2006 as a hobby project. The name Blinkenshell refers to a note that could be found on old mainframe computers and such known as "Blinkenlights".
